This course expires on December 31st, 2016. You must act quickly if you are a PTIN holder and want to speak with the IRS in 2017 regarding a clients tax return.
The Annual Filing Season Program aims to recognize the efforts of non-credentialed return preparers who aspire to a higher level of professionalism.
Participation in this course is critical. Annual Filing Season Program participants will have limited representation rights, meaning they can represent clients whose returns they prepared and signed, but only before revenue agents, customer service representatives, and similar IRS employees, including the Taxpayer Advocate Service. However, PTIN holders without an Annual Filing Season Program – Record of Completion or other professional credential will only be permitted to prepare tax returns. For returns prepared and signed after December 31, 2015, they will not be allowed to represent clients before the IRS.
This is a high level, basic 1040 refresher course based on 2016 1040 returns. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 6 hour AFTR course certificate.
